Sculpt Authenticity FAQ's

Q:How do I register an item that I bought from MoC to prove that it is authentic?
A:
  1. Go to the 'Sculpt Authenticity' page.
  2. Click on 'I would like to register my item that I bought from Mint on Card!'
  3. Provide your item(s) MoC order number, the email address used for that order, and the last name used on the order, (the last name of the receiver of the order).
  4. Hit 'Search'.
  5. You will be taken to a page that will list all of the item(s) in your order that can be registered for authenticity. Select the items that you would like to authenticate.
  6. Hit 'Submit'.
  7. You will be taken to a page that will provide you with your item(s) unique serial number, (each item will have it's own number).  Save/write down the number! You will want the number if you ever decide to sell your doll or doll parts on the 2nd hand market.
  8. You will also receive an email containing your item(s) serial number. Save this email!
  9. Now if you ever decide to sell your item you can provide potential buyers with your items serial number, proving that you purchased your item from MoC! :)
Q:Can I register an item that was never purchased from MoC?
A:No, only products that have been purchased through MoC can be registered for authenticity.

Q:I purchased a doll from someone who bought & registered their doll from MoC, can I also register the doll with MoC?
A: Yes! :) To register your sculpt complete the following steps:
  1. Go to the 'Sculpt Authenticity' page.
  2. Click on 'I bought an item from someone who bought it from Mint on Card, I would like to register it!
  3. Provide your items serial #, the previous owners email address on record, (the email address that they used when they registered their item), and the previous owners last name. The person who you purchased your item from will need to provide you with all of this information.
  4. Hit 'Submit'.
  5. You will now be taken to a page that will list the item that you purchased from the previous owner. Here you will need to provide your email, first name, last name, the date you purchased the item, and your general location, (the location is optional).
  6. Hit 'Submit'.
  7. The next page will inform you that the original owner of the item will be receiving an email allowing them to confirm that they sold their item to you. The previous owner will simply have to click a link in the email to approve that the authenticity registration be switched over to you.
  8. You will receive an email confirming that you have successfully submitted your authenticity registration information, and once the previous owner can clicked on the link mentioned above you will receive a 2nd email confirming that registration is fully complete.
  9. If you ever decide to sell your item you can provide potential buyers
with your items serial number, proving that you purchased your item from
    MoC! :)
Q:What products am I able to register?
A:Dolls, doll bodies, doll heads, and doll parts, (hands & feet). Clothing, wigs, eyes, and other accessories can NOT be registered.

Q:MoC gave me a sculpt as a prize/gift at a convention/meet-up, can I register it?
A:In order to register an item you need to have an order # associated with it, so it is not possible for items that were given away by MoC to be registered.

Q:I have an event item that I am not able to register, why is that?
A:The way that our ordering system worked in the past is different then it is now. MoC used to manually typed up orders when we were sending them to the manufacturer, event gifts were simply noted on customer orders, not added as an ordered item. Now our ordering system is automated, and all event items are added onto a customers order as an ordered item, not just noted. Basically if you look up a past order in your account or view a past order receipt, and you don't see the event gift listed on the order, then you won't be able to register it. We are very sorry about this, but there is no way for us to remedy it, not all past event gifts will be able to be registered.

Q:Do I have to register my item with MoC?
A:Nope! It is entirely optional.

Q:Why should I register my item with MoC?
A:If you think that there is ever a chance that you might sell your doll or doll part then registering your item(s) with MoC will likely help you sell your item(s) easier. All sculpts sold at MoC are 100% legitimate, we never sell pirated/re-cast sculpts. If you can easily prove to potential customers that you got your item from MoC then you are proving that what you are selling is the real deal! When you list your item(s) for sale just include your item(s) serial #, then anyone can go to the MoC website, pop in the serial #, and see that the item you are selling did in fact come from MoC!

Q:When people type in the serial # that I provided on my sales listing what will they see?
A: They will see the name of the item associated with that serial #, plus the 1st initial and last name of the current owner, when the owner ordered the item, and the owners general location, (the location is optional, so if the previous owner decided not to provide that information then no location will be given). Here is an example:
DollZone - Mara - Normal Pink Skin, Blank
- L. CHAN from United States ordered/purchased it on Feb 14, 2014

Q:What if I purchased an item 2nd hand & the previous owner purchased it from MoC but never registered it? Can I still register it?
A:To be able to register a 2nd hand item originally purchased from MoC the original owner must register the item. A 2nd hand owner will not be able to register their purchase unless the original owner does first.

Q:Is it possible for someone to register the same item more then once?
A:No. Once an item has been registered it is impossible for the item to be registered again and be given another serial #. It can only be transferred to a new owner, and the serial # will remain the same.

Q:Can serial number's expire?
A:No.

Q:Can someone 'cheat' and list an illegitimate item?
A:The only way a person can get a serial # for a sculpt is if they purchased that sculpt from MoC. If a person owns more then 1 of a sculpt, (purchased 1 from MoC and 1 from another source), then it is possible for them to register the sculpt that they purchased from MoC, but actually sell the one that they purchased from another source. Of course if they did this it would mean that they could never prove that the sculpt that they actually did purchase from MoC was bought at MoC, because only 1 serial # is ever provided for an item purchased at MoC. This scenario although possible is unlikely. If you see a 2nd hand sale listing, and the listing includes a MoC serial #, but something seems 'off' to you, then please feel free to email us.
